چکیده

Environmental pollution remains one of the most serious world problems. Great efforts are made to limit release harmful compounds into environment, and a variety methods for remediation soil, surface water, groundwater have been developed over years. Chemical technologies great interest since they can remove degrade pollutants in contaminated sites. This paper focuses on several chemical technologies, such as precipitation, flocculation, adsorption ion exchange, oxidation, soil washing flushing, electrokinetic remediation. Remediation almost always combined with another, although be used separately. Choosing an appropriate technology will depend type site conditions, it should done manner so that cost-effective efficient is chosen. Even though some full-scale, research focused enhancing existing, developing new technologies.

Physical and Chemical Groundwater Remediation Technologies

Groundwater is the main source of drinking water as well as agricultural and industrial usage. Unfortunately, groundwater quality has been degraded due to improper waste disposal practices and accidental spillage of hazardous chemicals. Therefore, it is critical that the groundwater contamination be prevented and the contaminated groundwater at numerous sites worldwide be remediated in order to...

Remediation and Respect: Do Remediation Technologies Alter Our Responsibility?

In this paper we examine the relation between technologies that aim to remediate pollution and moral responsibility. Contrary to the common view that successful remediation technologies will permit the wheels of industry to turn without interruption, we argue that such technologies do not exculpate polluters of responsibility. To make this case, we examine several environmental and non-environm...

Cyanide Remediation: Current and past Technologies

Cyanide (CN) is a toxic species that is found predominantly in industrial effluents generated by metallurgical operations. Cyanide's strong affinity for metals makes it favorable as an agent for metal finishing and treatment and as a lixivant for metal leaching, particularly gold. These technologies are environmentally sound but require safeguards to prevent accidental spills from contaminating...
